Late applications will be accepted by these CPUT faculties.

There is good news for students who are still considering applying to Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Students who missed the end-of-September deadline for 2023 applications have been offered another opportunity to apply for several programs.

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) has announced that the university is still accepting late applications. Only identified programmes with available spaces will accept 2023 late applications.

Those who only applied for one or two programs during the regular application period, those who missed the regular application period, students transferring from other universities, and CPUT students who took a study break are all eligible to submit late applications. It is emphasized to students that they may only apply to three programs.

The following courses are open to late applications, which will close on Friday 4 November 2022:

  • Advanced Diploma (Students who have completed a National Diploma/Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification)
  • Postgraduate studies: M Tech or Master Course-based programmes
  • Postgraduate Diploma programmes

Other programmes are still accepting late applications and these include:

  • Full Research Masters and Doctoral programmes – Closes 15 March 2023
  • Some late approved HEQSF programmes – Closes 30 November 2022 or 16 January 2023

Late applications may be done online except for a few non-degree programmes within the Faculty of Health and Wellness Services which follow the manual application system. Online applications are free of charge whereas manual applications cost R150 for first-time applicants.

Students are required to provide supporting documents with their applications. If the applicant is younger than 18 years old, then they will need to submit a Minor Application Declaration.

Online applications require students to scan, save and upload each document individually against each uploading certificate code. All documents must be scanned in any of the following file types: tiff, pdf, jpg or gif (MS Excel and MS Word document formats are not recognized).  The maximum scanned file size is 2MB each.

Manual application forms, supporting documents and receipt of payment of application fee will need to be submitted to Admissions@cput.ac.za or handed in to the ARC Office, Administration Building, Ground Floor, Bellville Campus.

Applicants are reminded that only completed applications will be considered. Students who need to submit manual applications will not be allowed to mail or courier their applications. The applicant will receive the outcome of their application via SMS.
