An Acting Senior Production Pharmacist is required within the Small Volume Parenteral division of an aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Port Elizabeth.

The purpose of the position is to provide support to the Senior Production Pharmacist by ensuring total compliance of the department to pharmaceutical GMP standards and supporting production activities from a pharmaceutical perspective.

Specification
1.Support with the assessment of production processes in order to establish level of compliance versus pharmaceutical standards.
2.Assist with the supervision of pharmaceutical staff
3.Promotion of GMP Compliance within the department.
4.Conduct product anomaly investigations and complete CAPA actions report to prevent re-occurrence of anomaly incident. Ensuring timeous close-out of events/deviations, CAPAs and change controls.
5.Perform departmental internal audits to establish level of compliance and necessary corrective actions to close gaps identified. Conducts daily walk abouts to drive and enforce compliance.
6.Provide support in external departmental audits and with the completion of the subsequent audit finding report.
7.Participate in writing, reviewing and updating departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
8.Coordinate/Conduct training initiatives within the department to ensure that all staff are properly trained and competent to perform their job function.
9.Responsible for the identification of process improvement opportunities in order to prevent product loss and unnecessary product discard.
10.Responsible to perform investigations in the area of responsibility, with the support of the tool Kabitrack
11.Occasionally perform duties of Production Pharmacist on shift
12.From time to time carry out other jobs within the department / factory, which are consistent with the grade, qualification and training of the incumbent.

Requirements
B Pharm Tertiary qualification.
Registered Pharmacist with South African Pharmacy Council.

•2 years Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience minimum
•Proven ‘hands – on’ managerial ability will be advantageous
•Production management skills
•Specific Small Volume Parenteral process technical skills
•Human resources / industrial relations skills
•N.O.S.A advantageous
