Job Summary:
Duties & Responsibilities:
In this role, you will take responsibility ensuring the smooth running of IT Infrastructure, Operations, Applications and Security and ensuring users get maximum benefits from established Global Standards while providing 2nd Line Infrastructure Support, with a strong emphasis on overseeing operations across Sub-Saharan Africa. Collaboration with business for the purpose of I.T strategy development. The person will take responsibility of the regional standards and KPI requirements.

Minimum qualifications and experience:
Ideal candidate should have a strong ITIL knowledge and demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in a similar role, with a proven track record in Project Management.

Job Description:
Your main responsibilities and duties in this position will include but are not limited to the following:
Resolve support issues.
You will be top line of escalation internally with complete ownership of 2nd line technical issues and
Liaison with 3rd party vendors and contractors.
Formulation and execution of local IT strategy.
Formulation and management of local IT budget – CAPEX and OPEX.
Execution of global project initiatives, as required.
Support and administer technologies including Networks, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Azure, Office365, VMWare and Citrix
Installation of and configuration of computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person.
Account administration of all core office systems and applications.
Problem solving Network, PC/Server hardware and OS issues.
Assist and complete administrative and operational tasks, data management, incident logging, reporting, systems monitoring and testing, and disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Ensure that appropriate standards are adhered to.
Follow the ITSM Incident, Request, Problem, Asset and Knowledge Management process.
Manage IT Operations assets and contracts.
Collaborate with various global technical teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
Identify, screen and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet IT operational needs.
Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams.
Other duties and responsibilities
Manage IT subordinates at remote locations. Will require ad hoc travel.
Support and maintain offsite remote facilities and employees. Will require ad hoc travel to assess site, plan & implement infrastructure.
Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes, prepare, and administer IT operating budgets; provide recommendations on processes and implement new/revised solutions according to established standards. Analyse, prepare, and execute CAPEX/OPEX spent for each fiscal year.
Participate in field research in pursuit of new IT operational solutions and to evaluate the applicability and usefulness of current solutions.
Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives and implementation of same.
Management of telecommunications and connectivity infrastructure, including fibre lines and wireless backup mediums.
Ownership of all IT administration including mobile contracts, hardware allocation documents and asset registers.
Essential Skills
Demonstrated ability in formulating and managing budgets, strategy, and execution of associated projects.
Excellent knowledge of Asset Management.
Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (GDPR & POPIA).
Excellent ability to formulate training material, train and support stakeholders; and ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
Experience in drafting policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning.
Hands on working experience managing and completing multiple projects simultaneously, whilst collaborating with both internal and external resources.
Agile, and able to multitask and work under pressure.
Ability to prioritize effectively, with excellent time management skills.
Planner with the ability to identify possible future obstacles, and problem-solving skills.
