The National Student Financial Aid Scheme of South Africa (NSFAS) is determined to make a difference in South Africa this 2024 by providing a sustainable financial aid system for study bursaries, allowing eligible students with the potential to succeed to realize their potential and hopes for the future.
NSFAS offices will be closed for the duration of the lockdown. This closure will now impact operations at NSFAS. However, the Contact Centre number will be suspended for the duration of the lockdown.
To continuously improve ways of communicating to students, NSFAS has developed a new feature on their website called NSFAS Connect.
NSFAS Connect gives you easy access to NSFAS by allowing you to obtain information through your myNSFAS account.
NSFAS Connect allows you to
- Search frequently asked questions and their answers
- Search and submit queries and complaints
Dedicated NSFAS agents will respond to your inquiries on NSFAS Connect and you will be notified when there is a response on your inquiry or complaint via Email.

This is a virtual contact centre, accessible from 08h30 to 17h00 Monday to Friday and can be accessed not only through the website but also, by Email, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
NSFAS Connect gives students access to quick faces, frequently asked questions, submissions and tracking of a query by using a case number.
In 2024, NSFAS would like to encourage students to monitor their MyNSFAS profiles for funding statuses, and updates. Students who do not have the MyNSFAS profiles need to register and open these profiles immediately.
