DUT Library login – Durban University of Technology E-Learning

Durban University of Technology, DUT library/libraries login to access library resources. Durban University of Technology (DUT) off-campus library access grants access to electronic devices, e-books and even the library club.

The Administration of Durban University of Technology (DUT) uses Open Athens  – a system used to facilitate access to the databases, e-journals and other electronic resources that the Library has subscribed to.

Both on or off-campus, you can try to access an electronic resource through the Library web site, you will be asked to log in before you can access the resource.

For access to the library, you can either visit your nearest library or go to library website.

DUT Library Login Steps

To be able to access the library, please,

• go to the library website – https://library.dut.ac.za/
• under Go to in the menu, click Students Portal or Staffs Portal
• If you are logging in as a student, please use your @dut4life email address as your username, e.g. 12345678@dut4life.ac.za and use Dut followed by the 1st 6 digits of your ID number.

If your ID number starts with 890101, your password will be Dut890101.

• For students who registered for the 1st time in 2020, or if you are a returning student who has had your password reset, your password will be $$Dut followed by the 1st 6 digits of your ID number.
• On the other hand, staff should use the @dut email address as their username, e.g. dutlibrary@dut.ac.za  and the password for staff is the email (domain) password.
