How to track the status of your appeal

After appealing, you can monitor the status of your appeal via the NSFAS Student portal. Start with these steps…

  1. Click here to visit the myNSFAS portal
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Click the ‘Track Funding Progress’.
  4. Check the application progress tabs.

Once the appeal has been submitted, the status will show ‘Active Appeal’, this means that the applicant has been provisionally approved for funding and their funding is pending final approval.

‘Approved for funding subject to registration’ status simply indicates that the applicant has been approved for funding. If the appeal is denied, the status will reflect: ‘Application unsuccessful’.

NSFAS bursaries are only eligible for students aspiring to study in South Africa’s 50 TVET Colleges or 26 public universities.

After Applicant has been approved for funding, NSFAS will cover their registration fees, tuition, accommodation, books, and transport.
