Job Summary:
The position falls within the Department of Professional Accounting.
The appointee will join the Financial Reporting subject team.
The subject team is responsible for all aspects of delivering Financial Reporting in the SAICA-accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (“PGDA”, CTA equivalent) and Bridging course. Responsibilities are likely in the future to expand also to the BCom Accounting.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include:
•Contributing to delivery of all subject responsibilities.
•Working collaboratively with all staff of the department.
•Material development and maintenance.
•Live online session delivery to large groups of students.
•Small group consultations with students.
•Assessment setting.
•Marking leadership.
Requirements:
Education & Experience Requirements:
•Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
•Demonstrable ethical behaviour.
•A reliable home internet connection.
•A suitable home working environment.
Key Selection Criteria:
•An ambitious and industrious nature.
•Technical competence in IFRS standards examinable at undergraduate and CTA levels.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•A passion for developing students through genuine care.
•An industrious and gregarious attitude with the ability to learn, solve problems, innovate and complete tasks without close supervision
•Emotional intelligence with an aptitude and desire to build relationships.
•Advanced to moderate IT competence.
