Job Title: Marker – Contract Position (part-time)
Location: Nationwide, Nationwide, South Africa
Contract Type: Contract
Salary: Market Related

Job Summary:
The general purpose of this contract position is to assist with the marking of our students’ assessments on a part-time basis.

The position is attractive for:
•Qualified lecturers who want to lecture in their field of expertise, but who require flexibility in terms of time and venue
•Qualified experts who live in remote areas and who are not able to lecture at a learning institution without having to travel extensively
•Employed industry experts who wish to get involved in lecturing in an academic environment and who can commit time outside of office hours as and when agreed
•Qualified lecturers who are involved in part-time consultation or lecturing work at multiple institutions.

This part-time position is in the School of Financial Planning and Insurance in one (or more) of the following fields:

•Income Tax
•Estate Planning and Trusts
•Personal Financial Planning
•Retirement Planning
•Medical schemes
•Employee benefits
•Legislative environment: FAIS, FICA, Long-term Insurance Act, Short-term Insurance Act, TCF, RDR, etc.

Responsibilities
:

•Establish and maintain familiarity with the assessment regime of a particular course.
•Ensure compliance with the assessment regime.
•Grade assignments according to memoranda and marking rubrics.
•Provide adequate and meaningful feedback to students where they have not performed adequately in terms of participation of assignments.
•Successfully complete all training interventions (initial and recurring/annual).
•Ensure familiarisation with online course environment, policies and procedures where relevant.
•Ensure familiarisation with requirements of individual courses to be taught.
•Stay abreast of developments in field of expertise.
•Source articles/newspaper clippings/new proposals/etc. relevant to the course/role.

Education & Experience Requirements:

•At least an NQF 6 qualification in financial planning or short-term related qualification.
•A Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning or an Honours in Financial Planning will be advantageous.
•Minimum three years’ industry-related experience
