To be accountable for managing the strategic direction and delivery of the finance control and operations requirement of the Group, including leading the Group Finance Shared Services and continuously improving the services by balancing business requirements, in short, medium and long term. Managing risk, service, cost and people within Finance Operations.

Job Summary:
Ensure the finance operations strategy is fully aligned with the strategic objectives of the Group
Collaborate with others to share learning, best practices, and leading industry thinking and ensuring local application of the same.
Ensure adequate finance operations policies are developed and communicated and that control standards are in place.
Develop people within the finance operations function in order to maintain and improve organizational capacity and the pipeline of talent.
Drive ongoing benefits by optimizing the application of resources, identifying and capturing synergies across finance operations.
Ensure continuous improvement by championing service improvement plans.
To take full ownership of, and provide expert advice on, matters relating to financial control, reconciliations and accounts payables across the group for the purpose of meeting the group business goals and improving the business performance.
Continuously optimize operational processes to make the function a competitive advantage to the business, supporting the business strategy and responding to business needs.
Achievement of targets service levels for product delivery.
Delivery of projects within the agreed cost and timescale milestones
Develop robust effective gatekeeping procedures and controls within Finance Operations to minimize operational risk and losses.
Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching. Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.
Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training needs are budgeted for and executed.
Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met.
Develop and nurture a team of best-of-breed talent that understand the overall business context and who will act as key change agents and ultimately progress to fulfill key leadership roles within Finance and Group
Identify key risks within the business and formulate appropriate mitigating controls.
Monitor and manage tolerance levels for key risks and within mandate assist with resolving and or appropriate Group Exec escalation.
Ensure the highest level of customer service is maintained and the changing customer needs and requirements are recognized and adopted.
Ensure adherence to agreed service level commitments.
Ensure effective management and reduction of customer complaints.
Ensure compliance with group standards of best practice and be fully accountable therefore.
Manage Finance Operations Projects within budget and the achievement of stated benefits within the planned timeframe.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar degree required
A qualified Charted Accountant or equivalent business degree with a minimum of 10 years working experience with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
Proven track record within an International financial services group
A seasoned business leader with a proven track record of commercial success leading a department or business including Finance.
Able to interact effectively at all levels and across all functions both within the Group and externally
Team player at senior team level and able to contribute widely to the business agenda
In depth knowledge of banking operations and operational risk management.
In depth knowledge of banking products, service and risk assessment techniques
Expert knowledge of Accounting Financial management
Expert knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and the relevant statutory requirements
