Learner Bursary Opportunity At TETA Scholarship Programme 2021/2022

Learner Bursary Opportunity At TETA is currently looking to fund undergraduates looking for scholarships.

Bursary Details

Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) is offering x200 bursaries and invites qualifying unemployed learners to apply for bursaries or funding for the 2022 academic year.

Candidate Requirements

As part of its skills development initiatives, Transport Education Training Authority awards bursaries annually for studies aligned to critical and scarce skills identified in the transport sector skills plan.

Bursary awards are categorised according to sector requirements, with due consideration of the National Skills Development Plan – 2030, compiled by the Department of Higher Education and Training.

Learners eligible for bursaries:

  • Currently in Grade 12 or have completed matric intending to study any of the qualifications listed below in 2022
  • Currently registered students at Institutions of Higher Learning (including TVET colleges) and require funding for the 2022 academic year
  • Aviation students with valid PPL/CPL
  • Commercial Divers with matric (Senior Certificate).
  • Applications must be to accredited aviation schools, accredited diving schools and registered TVETs and HEIs. Only online applications will be accepted.
  • NOTE: Manual or email applications will not be considered

TETA only funds the following list of qualifications:

  • (N4-N6) or National Diploma, B-Tech or B Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • (N4-N6) or National Diploma, B-Tech or B Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Logistics Management
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Road Transport Management
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Supply Chain Management including Warehouse, Storage and Distribution
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transportation Management
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Transport Economics
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Maritime or Nautical Studies
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Information and Communication Technology
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Risk Management
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Occupational Health and Safety
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Operations Management
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Business Administration
  • National Diploma, B-Tech, Advanced Diploma or B Degree in Business Financial Management
  • B Degree Maritime Law
  • B Degree Law
  • BCom Accounting
  • B Degree in Aeronautical Engineering
  • B Degree in Marine Engineering
  • Bachelor of Honours Degree / Postgraduate Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree
  • Master’s Degree (Research topics relevant to the transport sector)
  • Doctoral Degree (PhD) – (Research topics relevant to the transport sector)
  • Commercial Divers, Class II, III and IV
  • Commercial Pilot License
  • Instrument Rating
  • Instructor’s Rating
  • ATPL Subjects
  • ATPL (Hour Building)

The online application system can be accessed through the TETA website (www.teta.org.za).

Notes:

• Funding will only be considered for applicants applying for qualifications in the list provided above and for studies leading to a full academic qualification

• Applicants should complete all fields in the online application form i.e. course of study, duration of study, cost per year and current year of study

• All required documents “MUST” be uploaded

• Applicants “MUST” apply for one qualification from the provided list.

Note: Correspondence will only be entered into with successful applicants. If you have not received further correspondence from TETA by 30 January 2022, please consider your application unsuccessful.
