The incumbent will report to the Financial Manager and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and validity of Fundi’s financial transactions. These tasks will include the monthly Trial Balance sign off and a high-level review of the Income and Expenditure accounts. Other specific areas of responsibility will include the management of fixed assets, the management of inventory and the performance of balance sheet reconciliations.

Job Summary:
Compile and maintain the accuracy of the Fixed Asset Register ensuring that all new acquisitions are included therein, and all disposals and retirements of fixed assets are removed.
Perform reconciliations of the fixed asset register balance with summary-level accounts in the system.
Record the disposal of all fixed assets on the register.
Perform depreciation calculation for all fixed assets.
Coordinate the physical verification of fixed assets through consolidating registers from business managers of all assets captured on the register and acquiring sign off.
Capture all inventory received POS/ Delivery notes from regions consisting of stationery, wrist bands and Fundi cards.
Capture inventory related transactions on the system.
Conduct regular counts of inventory and reconcile to system data.
Advise on any inventory discrepancies.
Reconcile the inventory system account to the stock sub-ledger.
Perform an GL functions to maintain the health of the GL.
Conduct reconciliations including payroll and central across all relevant accounts monthly.
Obtain external confirmations/ statements for all month end balances on the Balance Sheet.
Review reconciliations, variance and investigate all reconciling items.
Manage variances in reconciliations to resolution.
Post and process month/year end trial balance and journals
Perform monthly final review of GL and sign off on the trial balance.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with accounting
Senior Accountant experience of 3 years
