Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) Bursary is currently looking to fund undergraduates looking for scholarships.

Bursary Details

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) would like to invite learners who are presently in Grade 12 or already studying at a public university, university of technology or a TVET college to apply for an MQA bursary for the 2022 academic year.

A total of 1 000 bursary opportunities will be available for the 2022 academic year and for those that commenced with their studies in the second semester of 2021 academic year.

The MQA Bursary Scheme only funds the following qualifications at universities and universities of technology:

  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Jewellery Design Manufacturing
  • Geology
  • Mining Engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Mine surveying
  • Electrical engineering
  • Chemical engineering
  • Environmental Health and Management
  • Analytical chemistry
  • Electro Mechanical Engineering
  • Industrial encineering
  • Occupational Health & safety
  • Occupational Hygiene
  • Occupational medicine

The MQA Bursary Scheme only funds the following qualifications at TVET colleges:

  • Boilermaker
  • Motor mechanic (Diesel)
  • Electrician
  • Fitter and Turner
  • Fitting (including machinery)
  • Instrumentation mechanic
  • Millwright
  • Rigger ropes man

If you have not received any communication from MQA by 15 December 2021, then please consider your application as having been unsuccessful. Late applications will not be accepted.
